Col. Cuddy graduated from Siena College, Albany, New York and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant, Infantry, USAR, through the Reserve Officer Training Corps.
He has a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science from Siena College, a Masters of Business Administration from Franklin Pierce College and a Masters of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College.
His military schooling includes the Infantry Officers Basic and Advanced Courses, Civil Affairs Officer Advanced Course, Human Resources Qualification Course, U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, Defense Strategy Course and the US Army War College. Col. Cuddy served as a Scout Platoon Leader, Executive Officer and Company Commander in the 1-105th and 2-108th Infantry Battalions, 27th Brigade, 10th Mountain Division (Light) from 1986-1994. After completing Company Command he attended the Civil Affairs Advanced Course and served in the 403rd and 443rd Civil Affairs Battalions in various Civil Military Operations Officer positions from 1994 – 1998.
During 1996, Lt. Col. Cuddy served as a Civil Military Operations Officer on a Tactical Support Team during Operation JOINT ENDEAVOR in Hungary
and the Former Republics of Yugoslavia. In 2005, Lt. Col. Cuddy served as a Civil Military Operations officer with the Louisiana Army National Guard supporting the City of New Orleans Emergency Operations Center during Hurricane Katrina/Rita Relief Operations.
In 1998, he joined the New Hampshire Army National Guard as the S2 for 54th Troop Command in Concord, NH. He then served as the New Hampshire National Guard State Marksmanship Coordinator from 1999-2003. From 2003 to 2006 Colonel Cuddy served as the Branch Chief for Mobilization and Readiness for the New Hampshire Army National Guard. Prior to taking Command of the Regional Police Advisory Command Colonel Cuddy commanded 54th Troop Command in Concord, New Hampshire.
Col. Cuddy’s awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (with four OLCs), Army Achievement Medal (with four OLCs), National Defense Service Medal (with one service star), Humanitarian Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the NATO and UN Service Medals, the Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, the German Armed Forces Parachutist Badge and the Excellence In Competition Badge, Bronze, in both Rifle and Pistol.
He lives in New England with Lynn, his wife, and three children.
